Hello Mrs Rombach.
I have just started a blog for the very first time with a class of very talented and wonderful grade 1 and 2 students. I found your blog on the Student Blogging Challenge and just love what you have done! I have borrowed this idea and popped it onto my blog too. Hopefully we will have a lot of soul searching and comments from students and parents as you have done.
P.S. The questions around the world idea – brilliant!
I’m delighted to have your class visit our class. If you have blogs for each of your students, I’d love to send my students your way to leave notes for your first and second graders. You’re in Australia; they love to connect with overseas bloggers. I’ll add your blog to my blogroll so we can trade comments and keep the ideas flowing. π I’m glad you borrowed the quotes. Before I opened the student blogs, I had the students complete a blog scavenger hunt to get to know our class blog better. That’s why there were so many comments on that particular page. Thanks so much for visiting! π
To everyone reading my comment β
My favorite quote is:
βEvery accomplishment starts with the decision to tryβ (Gail Devers)
It was my favorite because when you do something, you know you have to try. Itβs whether you fail or succeed. Itβs like making a goal in soccer. Whether you fail or succeed, you always have to try. Even if you fail, you always have another chance! I just love this quote so much. Mrs. Rombach, please donβt be that surprised, but the list you have on your site are quotes are posters I have created (that have the same quotes) are hung up in my room! It feels good to see those quotes in my room. π π π
~ Amanda I.
Hey, umm. Amanda? I think you’ve already said that, but just added 3 smiley faces.
-Mrs. Rombach, can you delete one of Amanda I.’s messages? I don’t think the other students in our class will like to see two of her comments the same.-
Thanks!
Mia π
I sure can delete the extra message. My own students double deliver comments too. No problem. I wish you’d left your URL so I could return the visit to your blog. Are you in Henrico County–just outside of Richmond? I lived in Richmond twice; once immediately after college when I worked at the Richmond Newspapers and then again when my husband was moved there with his company. My two oldest children were born at Henrico hospital. π If you class is blogging, come back and leave your URL so we can visit back and forth. We’re always on the lookout to connect with other classrooms. π Take care!
Thanks for stopping by our class blog tonight. I always appreciate when visitors take a minute and leave a comment. If you visit again, be sure to leave your URL so I can return the visit–if you have a blog up and running. π Our school is starting Bring-Your-Own-Device in January. I’m really excited…hoping that we’ll have access to more technology. π Thanks for sharing out your favorite quote. π
My favorite quote is “R”, Take risks: If you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise. This quote because they say its not a bad thing to lose and to try to take risks every day.
My favorite comment is “Being different is one of the most beautiful things on Earth” because it says that everyone is different and that is an amazing thing.
My favorite would have to be creativity is intelligence having fun, I never really thought of it that way but I think that’s very inspirational and also very true!
I connect with the perseverance one because normally in life most things don’t come naturally so you would have to practice. When you’re first starting most of the time 19 out of 20 you will get it wrong the first time but that last 20 that you get is the one that really counts and eventually youll get it all the time 20/20
My favorite quote is “Today a reader, Tomorrow a leader!” It is my favorite because i like to read about how different people can become leaders and i would love to become a leader.
My favorite quote is “You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” I like this quote because it tells me to never give up and never stop dreaming no matter how old you are.
” There is no substitute for hard work”
– Thomas Edison
This quote is so inspiring as to how only hard work can help you reach your goal. Hard work is your best friend, though sometimes we all feel like taking a short cut. Only hard work can help you find your way out of the maze, nothing else can.
Ramya –
What an insightful reflection on why you chose this quote. You’re right…hard work delivers the results we want. That reminds me of another favorite quote, “There are no traffic jams along the extra mile,” from famed NFL quarterback Roger Staubach. There aren’t crowds going the extra mile; only a select few. π I sure hope my students realize how important it is to be one of the select few who aspire to go above and beyond. π See you tomorrow! — Mrs. Rombach
hi this is Ethan D. the inspirational quote i connect with is “the surest way to not fail is to determine to succeed.” i connect to this because when i take a test i don’t think about failing, i think about passing!
thank you for devoting your time to reading this comment.

Thanks for sharing, Ethan. Here’s a shout out to all my sixth grade texting wizards. Remember, capitalize your I. Why? Because you’re a VIP…a Very Important (and Intelligent) Person. π See you tomorrow, Ethan. π
My favorite one was “if a window of opportunity appears don’t pull down the shade” because i think it is important that we take risks and take opportunity’s that come to us and i feel this really represents this π
I felt I connected with the saying: “If a window of opportunity appears, don’t pull down the shade.”
This inspired me because it reminded me that opportunities can make big impacts, and if you pull down the shade, you may never know how it can change your life.
Kyle- You’re so right. Sometimes the potential outside the window is so bright that it can be blinding and we turn away, afraid of the unknown. Unless you open the window all the way, you’ll never experience what’s just outside your comfort zone. π Great choice. π
i like the quote “today a reader, tomorrow a leader.” i like this quote because it rhymes and i understand what it means and what the quote is saying. -natalie c

My favorite quote is “Being different is one of the most beautiful things on earth.” (Unknown) I connect with this quote because I think I am different from other kids my age and this quote tells me that it is ok and beautiful to be different.
My favorite quote is letter R. It states “take risks: if you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise. I like it because it basically says that there is no bad side to a risk. If it works you will be happy that you took it, if you lose you know not to take it again.
I love quotes. They are actually inspirational. Just like you blog inspires me!
Meher-
You should write a blog that features your favorite quotes–with an explanation as to why. That would be fascinating indeed. π
